SIGRAD2004 Conference Announcement and
CALL FOR PAPERS

The Annual Conference of the Swedish Computer Graphics Association (SIGRAD) will this year be hosted by the

University of Gävle
24th and 25th of November 2004

This year’s conference will be themed “Visualizing our environment”. Key-note speaker will be Prof. Oliver Deussen from the university of Constance (DE). We invite full papers and work in progress papers on all aspects of computer graphics describing either proven and tested solutions or novel ideas and concepts. In connection to the conference theme, submissions are specially encouraged in the following areas:

Algorithms, applications and studies in the field of modelling, rendering and visualization of

  • Ecosystems
  • Environmental resources
  • Geographically located data
  • Oceanographic and climate simulations
  • Cultural heritage
  • Traffic, transport and logistic data
  • Tourist information

We also invite submissions to the “Creative 3D Production” contest, which encourages interactive or non-interactive computer based 3D productions, which demonstrate new ideas of “presenting maps of the future”. A map can contain more than forests, roads, buildings and geography. It can also be visualized in many different and creative ways. It is up to you to invent the maps of the future! Submitted contributions will be presented during the conference and be judged by a jury.
